V T Chandra Sekhar Rao is a distinction graduate in Civil Engineering from JNTU Kakinada and Post Graduate in Structural Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology, with more than 32 years of experience in executing large EPC(m) and FEED projects related to Oil and Gas, Refining, Power, Steel and Industrial sectors. After a brief stint in teaching, Mr. Rao started his professional career with a leading engineering consultancy company MECON and successfully performed design engineering of Steel, Industrial and Power projects as well as government projects like Missile Launching stations, IG Mint etc. During this phase, designed complex structures like Chimneys, Shell and Folded plate Structures and complex mat foundations and table-top foundations for vibrating machinery. Later Mr. Rao operated in senior management positions in large multinationals such as VAI, Fluor Daniel and Amec Foster Wheeler intently involved with project management of large International/ Indian capital projects related to Refinery, Petrochemical, Gas Processing and Power Plants. During this phase he handled Engineering, Procurement and Construction management of multi-discipline, multi-location, and multi-billion dollar projects in US, Canada, Australia, India, Middle-east, Nigeria and UK. His execution experience included working with Fortune 100 clients like ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Woodside Group, Saudi Aramco, ADCO, Nexen, Indian Oil. He is well networked with peers in EPC contracting companies like Fluor, Petrofac, Technip and Saipem.
Mr. Rao is well familiar with international codes, standards and best practices in engineering and construction and is also a certified Project Management Professional and Risk Management Professional by Project Management Institute, USA and is also certified for Corporate Directorship by Institute of Directors India.
Mr Rao is Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India), Fellow of Institute of Directors (India), Life member of Indian Concrete Institute and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers.
